Interested in Help to Buy?

Help to Buy is a Government-backed scheme available across the UK that allows first-time buyers and existing homeowners to buy a home with just 5% deposit. With Help to Buy, you'll get an equity loan of up to 20 per cent of the cost of a new home. The terms of Help to Buy vary slightly between England, London, Scotland and Wales, so take a look at the different schemes below.

The government’s new help to buy scheme, which will replace the current scheme, will come into place from 1st April 2021 and run until March 2023 as planned and there are no planes for further extensions. The new scheme introduces property price caps and is restricted to first time buyers only, supporting people on to the housing ladder.

Please note Help to buy is only available from 1st April 2021 on The Woodlands house purchases.

Help to Buy

Deposit 5%

You need as little as 5% deposit to buy a new home with Help to Buy.

Government Loan - 20%

The Government will provide an interest-free equity loan of up to 20% of the value of your property.

Mortgage - 75%

You'll need to obtain a 75% mortgage to buy your Help to Buy home

Stamp Duty Land Tax: Temporary Reduced Rates

The introduction of reduced rates of Stamp Duty Land Tax (SDLT) will apply for residential properties, this additional cost associated with purchasing a new home has been temporarily eliminated on most properties until 31 March 2021 inclusive, which means a significant saving.
